Screenplay: One and Only

Posted on

April has been: Finish Your flippin Screenplay Month! As today is the second to last day, it’s crunch time.

Back in February (which was ‘Ignore Your Screenplay Month’), Dave made me this mock poster to help inspire me to finish.

Lovely right! I have a copy on my desk. Ok now that you have an idea what I’m doing, back to it! Wish me luck…

Shout Out! Exploding Dog

Posted on

Exploding Dog is just about the most rad cartoonist on the scene. Dave surprised me this Christmas with a ED ipod cover!

Here is one I read recently – it pretty much covers the first conversation we had on our first date!

Throw Pillows

My huge couch was so sad with only two blah pillows. Time for a makeover!

Ikea supplied the yellow fabric, two new pillow and two new white covers for my old pillows. I made some simple pillow covers with the fabric and bam! New couch.

I tried to find instructions on how to make these pillow covers online. Here are the best written and video instructions I could find.

Chalkboard Wall

Posted on

If you love keeping to do lists as badly as I do, having a chalkboard wall is where it’s at.

A little painters tape to create a snazzy border and you’re good to go!

All your to-do ducks are in a row…and you can even play hangman!

Mimi vs The Audition

Posted on

Trying to film an audition is almost impossible with two attention hungry pets.

Inspiration Wall

Posted on

Over my desk I made myself a little wall of inspiration! I have shout outs to NY, art by Nate Kassel and Dave D, pictures of my parents and sisters, keys that I have found and some stuff I thought looked cool. It made a nice little installation.

Shout Out: Emily B!

I know what you’re thinking…Emily B? Who she be?

Well, I’ll tell you somethin somethin – she’s a pretty classy hoe-fessional that just happens to be my blood.

Her blog thelittleblogbyemily.blogspot.com may be a lot to type, but it’s definitely worth it. I get a lot of my recipes from her blog, seeing as I miss her cooking after being her roomie for 3 years.

She also just created an etsy page! Etsy.com/shop/EmilyKnutsenDesigns. Super Classy.

Do it.

Awkward Times

Posted on

We are pretty weird in this house. 90% of the time we just hang around and mess with our poor pets. Coop can be pretty emo, so we decided to do what every good parent would do – mock him.

Marching Babies

Posted on

In church one day, I believe it was the Day of the Dead, they were celebrating with images of skeletons everywhere. I began to think about cartoon skeletons – then about baby skeletons – and how interesting a line of marching skeleton babies would look (my mind seems to wonder rapidly in church).

And so began the marching baby skeleton sketches!

After much tweaking I came up with two little dudes. This being one of them!
Cute dead baby! Now to get a bunch of them in a line…

Now I’m going to put the above image on a screen and print them on a vintage piece of barn board – part two coming soon!

Eye Chart

Posted on

I always forget something at home whenever I go out. So I decided to make an eye chart reminding me of my essentials. I had it printed at Staples on legal paper, tea stained it and hung it up!

Now it’s a classy way to not be such a mess.
